Newt Gingrich on Friday claimed that Trump– as President and Chief Executive– cannot, by definition, commit obstruction of justice.
But in 1998, then-House Majority Leader Gingrich accused then-President Bill Clinton of…(wait for it)…obstruction of justice. In fact, obstruction of justice became 1 of the 4 articles of impeachment drafted by Newt’s caucus!
Article III specifically reads:
[Clinton] has prevented, obstructed and impeded the administration of justice, and has to that end engaged personally, and through his subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or scheme designed to delay, impede, cover up and conceal the existence of evidence and testimony related to [showing his penis to Paula Jones].
