The Intercept makes a big to-do about protecting sources:
We’ve taken steps to make sure that people can leak to us as safely as possible. Our newsroom is staffed by reporters who have extensive experience working with whistleblowers, as well as some of the world’s foremost internet security specialists.
But whistleblower Reality Leigh Winner was arrested after the retards at The Intercept provided a color copy of the original document to the Trump regime, which indicated that it was “printed and hand-carried out of a secured space”— greatly narrowing down the list of suspects.
This is the 2nd Matthew Cole source to get arrested.
In 2013, fmr. CIA analyst-turned-whistleblower John Kiriakou was sentenced to 30 months in prison for revealing criminal conduct by regime goons:
.@theintercept should be ashamed of itself. Matthew Cole burns yet another source. It makes your entire organization untrustworthy.

And then WaPo’s Josh Rogin was all like:
For anyone who wants to leak without getting arrested, I'm at [email protected]

You may recall that in 2015, MFP rec’d a series of internal Rand Paul 2016 campaign memos, including “8 to Win”. MFP conveyed the contents of the document w/out actually publishing it, because duh.
On at least 2 occasions, Team Rand tried to trick MFP into revealing its source– going so far as having a chick to contact MFP over Facebook. They gave up when MFP responded by asking for nudes.
